Ladies United by a Common Purpose

Since 1903, the aim and goals of the Ladies' Oriental Shrine are to promote sociability, good fellowship, and the betterment of all Ladies connected with the organization. Today, the Ladies Oriental Shrine of North America, Inc. (LOSNA) has thousands of members in Courts across North America.  Zulekia Court #35 in Cheseapeak is one of three Courts in Virginia.

The Ladies participate in parades, mini-clinics and Shrine Circuses, just to name a few.  The Ladies may choose to be active in a variety of special interest units within the Order, such as Oriental Bands, Patrols, Clowns, Dancers, or vaious other units.  The Ladies are always ready to display their pageantry and glamour in order to show the public how much they enjoy their activities.

Splendors of Giving - When the Shriners founded the Shriners Hospitals for Children and the first hospital opened in 1922, the Ladies of LOSNA committed to support the Shrine's official philanthropy.  Today the Courts continue to support the hospital fund, hospital sewing, research projects and other areas of interest.  Each Court not only raises funds for the hospitals, but they sew and donate clothing and other articles for the children, stuffed animals, purchase equipment, and volunteer at the hospitals to serve as tour guides, information desk clerks, and office personnel.  The LOSNA contributes over a half million dollars annually to the Shrine Hospitals and a similar amount through philanthropic endeavors to the Shine Temples.  To learn more, please visit the Grand Council of the Ladies Oriential Shrine of North America web site.
